Formal signing of the Manifesto of Cooperation for PATRIoT Consortium held during the PSECE 2017

Industry, Academe and Government representatives signed the Manifesto of Cooperation for Philippine Advanced Technological Research and Development for Internet-of-Things (PATRIoT) Consortium during the Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Convention and Exhibition (PSECE) 2017 last June 21 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Manila.

The mutual agreement is a beginning of long-term comprehensive partnership that will promote the growth of a vibrant network of cooperating partners through robust industry-academe-government collaborations, with the end-in-view of advocating the Philippines as an emerging hub for IoT/IoE products, services and solutions in the Asia Pacific Region.

Signing the manifesto were Engr. Raul Sabularse, Deputy Executive Director of DOST-PCIEERD; Carlo Niño T. Ching, Education Program Specialist II of CHED – Region IV A; Allan P. Timonera, President of Fastech; Juan Lozano, Managing Director of FAITH Colleges, and Lionel Belen, Founder of Brainsparks. Brainsparks, an innovation and startup hub, is the convenor of PATRIoT while Fastech and FAITH Colleges were the partner companies of PSECE 2017.

Participating in the signing were FAITH Colleges; Asia Pacific College; Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila; Manila Tytana Colleges; Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation – Lucena; Technological Institute of the Philippines – Manila Campus; Technological University of the Philippines; University of Perpetual Help System – Biñan Campus; University of Perpetual Help System – GMA Campus; University of Perpetual Help System – Molino Campus; and University of the East – Manila.

IoT is the network of interconnected things/devices which are embedded with sensors, software, network connectivity and necessary electronics. This allows integration and data exchange between the physical world and computer systems over existing network infrastructure.
